Sand and Water
A friend of ours has a landscape supply business. Dan mentioned he might like to get the kids a sand pile, and before I could object, there was a whole truckload being dumped onto our lawn.
The kids played in it FOREVER.
Then they "helped" me water some plants and my new bamboo.
Here's what all of that looked like:

ben was chasing bella with the hose |
he dumped the sand out of his boots so so many times |
playing "chug a choo choo" |
my sandy beauty |

Pudding (avocado)
This is our favourite healthy dessert!
The kiddos like to help make it. They add the ingredients and press the buttons on the blender, and since I rarely measure ingredients after the first time making something, they do lots of taste testing!
There's a bunch of different recipes online if you look.
Here is basically how we made our two different batches tonight. But how we make this really does change a bit every time.
Batch #1 chocolate banana avocado
3 ripe avocados
1 banana
2 -3 tablespoons raw cocoa powder
2 -3 tablespoons sweetener (we used a mix of maple syrup and agave)
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1-2 teaspoons real vanilla
1/4 cup water
Blend til creamy and delicious!
Pudding #2
2 avocados
3 tablespoons total of nut or seed butter. We used peanut butter and pumpkin seed butter.
2 tablespoons natural sweetener (ie maple syrup, rice syrup, agave, honey ..)
Water
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1-2 tablespoons raw cocoa powder
1 teaspoon real vanilla
Blend and serve
Again
Please know I DON'T MEASURE
These are guesses of what the kids and I did a couple hours ago
We usually go the cocoa-banana route but we got creative and really loved the choco pb kind!!!
Also these are fantastic without the banana or nut butters.
And they are even better when you freeze them into Popsicle moulds!
Kids love them! (most) They are a great summer treat!
Get creative!! How do you switch up this recipe!!?
Have you made this?
Who loves it?!
Gimme some feedback ;)

Sick day
Bella's barely got a cold.
Ben's sorta got a cold.
He's also thrown up a couple times.
There's a lot of snot around here.
I think I have mastitis.
I'm tired and feel like crap.
I've had a lovely friend and my sis in law offer to take my kids so I can rest, but I'd hate for my kids to get anyone else sick. So, we're all at home. And finally no one is crying!
This is what a calmer moment of our day looks like.... Compliments of Diego.
(yes that's my heap of half folded laundry below the tv)
What did momma's used to do on sick days before tv??
I really don't like being so lazy or letting my kids watch so much tv... But sometimes it feels like the only way.
(all iPhone pics.. Baby fell asleep on me and its easier to use hipstamatic)
